Sean Lyndersay of Microsoft has asked a question on the RSS 2.0
mailing list RSS-Public -- what's the preferred MIME type for RSS:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rss-public/message/566
I was looking at this as an RSS 2.0 issue, but Sam Ruby called to my
attention an effort several years ago to use "application/rss+xml" for
all RSS feeds, whether they use RDF Site Summary or Really Simple
Syndication.
This sounds like a great idea to me. I'm eager to see us work together
as much as possible on areas of mutual benefit.
If anyone on the RSS-DEV Working Group would like to work on a joint
proposal to support this MIME type (or some other) for all RSS feeds,
let me know.
